Description: Mental Health Access Hubs provide access to all adult mental health services. A team member will explore and triage the nature of your crisis with you and, if appropriate, will make arrangements for a clinician to meet with you. The team comprises a range of experienced NHS staff and clinicians with specific expertise in crisis and de-escalation interventions. The Mental Health Access Hubs have access to services across Coventry and Warwickshire which can support and advise you. Specific Information for Children and Young People -- Rise Crisis & Home Treatment Team:

Description: The Rise Crisis & Home Treatment team (Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust) provides multi-disciplinary support to children and young people (under 18s) who present in mental health crisis.

For urgent calls for children and young people who are experiencing a mental health crisis please contact the Rise Crisis Team between 8am-8pm 7 days a week. Outside of these hours our advice-only service is available, providing support 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. More information about children and young people's mental health can be found on the Coventry and Warwickshire Rise website.

Voluntary and Community Sector Support Helpline provided by Mental Health Matters in Coventry and Warwickshire

Description: This confidential helpline provides emotional support to residents in Coventry and Warwickshire. It connects you with highly skilled, trained and compassionate staff that can offer you a listening ear and can put you in touch with a wider network of support provided by the voluntary sector in collaboration with the Trust. This service also provides webchat functionality if you feel speaking with someone over the phone is too difficult.

  • If you are having thoughts about suicide and need to talk to someone, you can speak to Samaritans by calling 116 123, for free, or by visiting their website
  • StayingSafe.net offers compassion, kindness and easy ways to help keep people safer from thoughts of harm and suicide, seek support and discover hope of recovery through powerful videos from people with personal experience.The website provides vital ‘ Safety Plan' guidance tools jointly funded by NHS England, with easy to print / online templates and guidance video tutorials designed to help people through the process of writing their own Safety Plan to build hope, identify actions and strategies to resist suicidal thoughts and develop positive ways to cope with stress and emotional distress. 
  • For mental health support, we also recommend looking at the Stay Alive app.
  • The Dear Life website provides local and national support and self-help for anyone who needs help now, is worried about someone else or has been bereaved.
  • The Zero Suicide Alliance now offers  free online suicide prevention training. The training takes 20 minutes to complete and will give you the skills that could lead to a life being saved.

When to dial 999:

Call 999 in a medical emergency – when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Medical emergencies can include:

  • loss of consciousness
  • an acute confused state
  • fits that are not stopping
  • persistent, severe chest pain
  • breathing difficulties
  • severe bleeding that cannot be stopped
  • severe allergic reactions
  • severe burns or scalds
  • overdose
