Medicines Management

Medicines management encompasses the entire way that medicines are selected, procured, delivered, prescribed, administered and reviewed, to optimise the contribution that medicines make to producing desired outcomes to patient care." (Audit Commission.  "A Spoonful of Sugar". 2001)

We are committed to ensuring that services users and patients receive the same standard of care with respect to medicines as they would in an acute or specialist trust, although delivered in a way that meets their specific needs.

Please note: The Medicines Management Office at Wayside House is not being routinely staffed at present. Orders for prescriptions (FP10) and non-personalised prescribing/ stock ordering stationery may still be made in the usual manner. If you are a member of staff, please visit our Intranet. However, the team is requesting you allow additional time to be made for deliveries.

Please check your existing prescribing stationery stocks and place your order well before you are about to run out. There is no need to stockpile large volumes of additional stationery, but please give some thought to how long your existing stock will last.
